Our Warranty Program
When Gorsegner Brothers refinishes your hardwood floors using our 4-coat Bona Mega polyurethane system, we back the result with a 10-year warranty. That's not a marketing claim — it's a written commitment to the quality of our work and the products we use. Bona Mega is a premium water-based finish known for its durability, clarity, and low VOC formula, and our trained applicators follow the exact process required to activate the warranty protection. If your finish fails within 10 years due to a defect in workmanship or product performance, we make it right.
Coverage Details
If the Bona Mega finish peels, flakes, or separates from the wood under normal use conditions, we'll sand and recoat at no charge.
Any defects resulting from our application process — lap marks, bubbling, uneven sheen — are corrected free of charge within the warranty period.
Bona Mega is a certified professional finish. If the product underperforms according to manufacturer specs, the warranty covers the re-application.
Coverage runs for the full 10 years from the date of service — not 1 or 2 years like many contractors offer. This is real, long-term protection.
The 4-Coat System
The 10-year warranty isn't just about using Bona Mega — it's about applying it correctly. Our technicians follow a strict 4-coat protocol: one coat of Bona Mega primer sealer, followed by three top coats of Bona Mega polyurethane, with light screening between each coat for optimal adhesion and a glass-smooth result.
This system produces a finish that's resistant to scuffs, scratches, and daily household wear — far more durable than a typical 2-coat refinish job. The water-based formula also means faster dry times, lower odor, and a clearer finish that won't yellow over time.

4-Coat Application Process
Sanding & Prep
Floors are sanded to bare wood, cleaned, and inspected for any board-level repairs before finishing begins.
Bona Mega Sealer (Coat 1)
A penetrating primer coat bonds with the wood grain and prepares the surface for the finish coats above.
Bona Mega Poly — Coats 2, 3 & 4
Three topcoats of Bona Mega polyurethane are applied with screening between each coat for maximum adhesion and a glass-smooth surface.
Cure & Final Inspection
Floors are allowed to cure fully before final walk-through. Warranty documentation is provided at job completion.
