Request one by phone, text or the form on the contact page. - Form requests get a reply within one business day. - For installation jobs, the estimate gives an exact price and timeline, not a ballpark. - For stained floors, the crew sands a small area of your floor and lays down up to 5 stain samples, so you pick the color in your own light and on your own wood. ## What a hardwood refinishing job includes - Three options: buff and recoat (lightly abrade the old finish and add a fresh topcoat, no stain), full sand and refinish (sand to bare wood, new stain and topcoats), and deep clean and revive (no sanding). - Sanding is dust-contained. The crew uses dustless sanding equipment on all NJ projects, and tapes plastic sheeting over doorways and vents before sanding starts. - Custom stain colors from the Bona DriFast palette, finished with a low-VOC water-based polyurethane. - Most refinishing jobs take 2 to 4 days: one day of sanding and staining, then 1 to 2 days of finish coats. - You only need to be home on day one, to choose the stain. Most clients stay in the house during the work. ## Published prices - Sand and refinish: $4 to $6 per square foot, about $5,000 for a typical 1,000 sq ft first floor. - Single rooms cost more per square foot: a bedroom may run $6 to $7 a foot, a full first floor closer to $5. - Buff and recoat: roughly $2 to $3 per square foot, about half the cost of a full refinish, when the existing finish is still intact. - New hardwood installation: the floor itself, supplied and fitted, usually runs $7.50 to $17.75 per square foot, about $10 typical (installation cost guide).
